Lab for Biobehavioral Research on Autism, Intellectual and Neurodevelopmental disabilities

Studies of the Fragile X Gene

COVID-19 Update: Our institution, center, and lab are taking every precaution to minimize risk to our research participants, their family members, and our staff. We currently are screening and enrolling participants for the FMR1 premutation study, but we are not conducting in-person assessments at this time. If you are interested in participating, please fill out the form below to receive more information about eligibility and our anticipated timeline for resuming in-person assessments.

We are interested in understanding behavioral and brain based issues associated with disruptions of the fragile X gene, FMR1. Our lab has conducted studies of brain behavior linkages in individuals with fragile X syndrome and individuals with a premutation allele of the fragile X gene. If you or your child are a known carrier of a full or premutation allele of the fragile X gene, please contact us directly via phone (785-864-4461) or email ( regarding opportunities for research participation.
